WAR IS EVIL

Still Life

19 January 2016

When you cut the wire between your mind (give it rest) and your legs (let them work and make decisions), you may unexpectedly find yourself in a unique secluded place.

I spent quite some time in this pottery, chatting with the master, looking at his work. It was a suitable moment to ask for a cup of tea but I realized that this might imply fashioning a teapot from clay by myself – a hopeless task for me. I preferred to remain thirsty and photographed these two still lifes instead. For no particular reason – perhaps, just for this journal page.

A still life with a clock…

… and a still life with a starfish

—both creations of someone else’s hands. Sometimes we have an urge to document what others have done but not without a tiny bit of personal input.
